Stage 11 crosses from Horton Plains to Udaweriya, 14.3 kilometres graded moderate, with special hours because it uses the national park. You start from Nuwara Eliya early enough to be on the plains when the gate opens. The day is cooler than anything around Kandy. Ask for the rate, and keep a rain jacket where you can reach it.
The plains are open, windy, and quick to disappear into cloud. The walking is steadier than stage 10's climb, but altitude and weather still decide how the day feels. We end at Udaweriya and drive you either back toward Nuwara Eliya or on toward a Haputale stay if stage 12 is tomorrow.
Note: About 14.3 km on foot. Pickup in Nuwara Eliya at 6:30 a.m. Drop-off Nuwara Eliya or your Haputale-side stay.
Early transfer, the park stage on foot, and a pickup at Udaweriya.
