About this activity
Pekoe Trail stage 1 walks from Hantana to Galaha, 12.84 kilometres that the trail markers rate as easy and about four hours on foot. On a clear day the high point looks back to Victoria Reservoir and across to the Knuckles. We drive you to the start from Kandy and collect you at Galaha. Ask for the day's rate, and carry the official Pekoe Trail pass.
The stage climbs through the Hantana hills, tops out around 1,070 metres, and drops through forest and village edges to Galaha post office, the usual end point. It is a social path, with houses along parts of it, which is why it suits a first tea-country day. The pass is a separate ticket from anything we charge.
Note: About 12.84 km on foot. Pickup in Kandy at 7:30 a.m. Drop-off Kandy, afternoon.
