Stage 2 of the Pekoe Trail runs from Galaha to Loolkandura, 14.7 kilometres of tea and forest path above Kandy. It is a full walking day, graded here as moderate because of the distance, from 65 US dollars with a guide and transfers. Loolkandura is among the oldest tea estates in the country. Bring the official trail pass.
You are collected in Kandy, driven to Galaha, and walked through to Loolkandura, where the vehicle is waiting. The estate is tied to the early story of Ceylon tea and to James Taylor's planting experiments. The path is waymarked. Distance, not technical ground, is what you should respect.
Note: About 14.7 km on foot. Pickup in Kandy at 7:00 a.m. Drop-off Kandy, late afternoon.
